MARCH Club Meeting

At the March Anderson Island Amateur Radio Club meeting, Kurt Sample gave a presentation on QRZ.com, an online tool used by amateur radio operators around the world. QRZ serves as a central hub where operators can look up call signs—the unique identifiers used on the air—learn about one another, and track their radio activity. As Kurt explained, every call sign has a story behind it, whether it’s a conversation with someone in Romania or Cuba, or a personal page filled with photos and projects.  The platform also includes digital logbooks that allow users to record contacts, confirm connections, and even map where their signals have reached. QRZ reflects the spirit of amateur radio: curiosity, connection, and community, offering a simple way to share those stories while staying connected to a global network of radio enthusiasts.
